Poléa is a centre dedicated to Archeoscientific studies and is a trade mark registered by ArchéoLoire, a private archaeological company created in 2009 and located at Guérande in the Loire-Atlantique region of France. The company undertakes what is known as 'preventive' archaeology in France – in effect, archaeological excavation carried out in advance of any kind of land development likely to endanger archaeological remains.
