The 288 Calgary Group is especially keen in teaching our youth the conventional Scouting skills such as knotting, lashing, spicing, pioneering projects, mapping, use of compass, first aid, camping hiking (including making hiking logs) and leadership skill; recently we have added talent by the joining of some new Scouters to bring in knowledge of alpine hiking, winter hiking, winter camping and use of GPS (Global Positioning System).
