The Centre for Policy Research was set up at Panjab University in the year 2014, by the Department of Science & Technology, GoI, New Delhi. Ensuing the release of the STI – 2013 Policy, the government realised the importance of evidence-based analytical studies and research for effective realisation of the goals set by the Policy and therefore established five DST-Centers for Policy Research (CPRs) in various academic institutions across the country.
