Inspired by Pravasi Bharitiya Diwas 2006, The Society was the outcome of an informal gathering, followed by lunch, with a group of young persons from India and Non Resident Indians held at YMCA, New Delhi on 24th October 2006. Everyone present there, felt the need to form a common platform from where the idea of Housing for all Global common people can be raised, and can be solved together. The consensus was for the formation of a Housing Society, and thus, NRI Global Heritage Sehkari Awas Samit
