Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as experienced and authored by an 81 year old Native American Elder in her book and expressed on her blog. Her lifelong search for a way out of her pain as well as a search for her Indian identity led to understanding her mother who also suffered from a diagnosis of "shell shock" (now understood as PTSD) and her transmission of her pain to her daughter.
