I got the itch to start turning from my father. We had been going to woodworking shows in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for many years checking out the latest woodworking tools. In 2002, we saw one vendor that was demonstrating a lathe and was turning a simple profile pen. The following year, 2003, we saw the same vendor and I bought the lathe with a starter kit of pens.
