n 1991 a group of 30 professionals including eye specialists, medical professionals and serving/retired government officials got together with the objective of rendering service for the suffering humanity. By mutual consensus the members decided to provide services to the poor and needy in the area of eye care. This led to the establishment of Islamabad Society for Prevention of Blindness (ISBP) in 1991.
